Testimonials
Every NHA patient is assured of receiving safe, prompt, courteous care. NHA professionals have proven their dedication to providing quality care to the people of our community time and time again.
But there’s more to the story. Homecare is a very special kind of healthcare. Because it’s carried out in the patient’s home, it’s very personal. As a result, close bonds are often formed between caregiver, patient and family. Here are a few kind words from NHA patients and family members. We are truly grateful to them for taking the time to write us.
Dear Madam/Sir:
I was recently hospitalized for a mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction. Upon arriving home, I was provided daily nursing care beginning April 16. The weekday nurse assigned to me was Kristin F. What a gem!
I just want to take the time to express my appreciation for a job well done. When I arrived home, I was terrified both from the surgical procedures as well as not knowing what to expect. I live alone and was in a great deal of pain and discomfort. Kristin immediately put me at ease and I looked forward to her daily visits. She is extremely knowledgeable and competent and is an asset to your organization. In addition to her nursing skills, she has a pleasant personality which helped me through this ordeal.
This was my first experience with Visiting Nurses and I must commend you on the quality of nursing care. Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,

To Management:
On November 26th of last year my son, Daniel, had surgery performed at Chester County Hospital. The removal of a pilonidal cyst dictated that his recovery would be made at home and would be lengthily.
Within one hour of arriving home from the hospital we were contacted by Germaine W. She indicated that she would be helping Daniel during his convalescence.
We can’t thank Germaine enough for the way she performed her duties. She is one of the most professional, friendly, sensitive, helpful, knowledgeable, prompt health care providers we have ever known. Her suggestion that Daniel would benefit from the use of a Wound Vac, which our doctor finally prescribed, reduced his recovery time, we estimate, by three to four weeks.
Germaine would contact us on a regular basis about every other day. She would confirm the time she was to arrive and then do so almost to the minute. It become so that Daniel and I looked forward to her visits much like one would anticipate the arrival of a lifelong friend.
You have a wonderful woman working with you.
Please let Germaine know how much we appreciate her.
Sincerely,
Dan's father
Dear Neighborhood Health Agencies, Inc.,
I am sending this letter in appreciation of your wonderful staff.
My first contact was with Holly from Health Buddies who showed my wife how to monitor me and send the info to your office. She or Stephanie called to follow up and answered any questions we had. They were very nice and helpful. The staff was always courteous on the phone.
When I was having difficulties, I could always count on your agency. Laurie C. was there to help with diabetes control and medicine issues. Marianne B., the wound nurse, was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to see. All the visiting nurses who came made a difference and I appreciate all of the them. My primary nurse, Dawn B., was outstanding. She is a lovely person as well as a wonderful nurse and I am so thankful for everything she has done.
Amy W., the physical therapist, was great. I looked forward to seeing her smiling face and benefited from her visits.
My wife and I send a heartfelt thanks to all of you for your caring and dedication.

Dear Mrs. Devoti:
We are writing this letter, as a family, to thank you for the wonderful Home Care Aide services that you and your staff provided for our mother.
In this day and age we are always the first to criticize for things that people do wrong and we really felt the Need to express our utmost satisfaction with the Neighborhood Health Agency. Each and every person that came to help our mother were very professional and courteous. What a great help it was to us for you to provide the care that our mother needed at her time of illness. After having open heart surgery, each and every one of you were right there providing her with all the medical and personal attention she needed.
She is doing wonderfully now and getting around very well. We, along with our mother, would like to thank you very much for all your assistance in her recovery. Please let each and every person that visited her that we were very satisfied with their work and she will miss them!

Dear Mrs. Devoti:
I am writing on behalf of my grandmother, to express sincere appreciation for the work that Kathy M. has done to assist her these past few years. Kathy comes twice a week to help us. Grandma is 102 years old, and needs assistance with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. In addition, I am overwhelmed with two small children and the care of Grandma’s house, where we live, and Kathy’s care of Grandma’s bedroom and bathroom takes a huge burden off my shoulders.
Kathy helps Grandma in and out of the tub, washes Grandma’s hair, styles it, helps Grandma put on a clean nightgown and underthings, changes the sheets on Grandma’s bed, tidies up the bedroom, vacuums, washes Grandma’s sheets and other laundry, hangs them out to dry, wipes down the bathroom, cleans the toilet and sink and tub, prepares and serves lunch. She lets me know when Grandma needs shampoo, or other amenities, and even goes out of her way to make sure Grandma has nice bubble-bath and little luxuries like that. She also alerts me to any health concerns, like some dermatitis and some minor leg swelling that Grandma had last year, so that I can call the doctor.
Kathy’s consistency and thoughtfulness with scheduling also make our lives much easier. She always calls the night before she visits, and gives us very accurate information about when to expect her. If her time with a previous patient runs late, she always calls to let us know the adjusted timing.
I cannot say enough about how grateful we all are to Kathy. It has been challenging to be responsible for Grandma. To be able to share that sense of responsibility with someone as kind, reliable, and thoughtful as Kathy is a true blessing. I recommend her highly and without reservation. She is a credit to her profession and to the Neighborhood Visiting Nurse Association.

Dear Andrea:
I recently had total knee replacement surgery, January 18th, 2005 and had the help of several staff members from the Visiting Nurses Association.
Diane Kowalcyck came to do a home assessment and she was delightful while being very efficient.
My visiting nurse was Marianne Henson and she was wonderful and caring on each and every visit to my home.
Also, the physical therapist, Sue Fitzgerald was very caring and helpful when working with me doing my exercises.
What a delight to have such dedicated staff members.
Please thank them again for me.
